So Why Do We Need Lycopene?
10/06/2016

BENEFITS OF LYCOPENE

Lycopene is a powerful antioxidant which protects cells and helps rid body of toxins/ free radicals.

Found in:
Tomatoes
Pink Grapefruit
Pink Guava
Watermelon
Papaya
Rosehips

Health Benefits:
Prevent heart disease by raising good cholesterol
Infertility by increasing sperm count in men
Prevent diabetes
Prevent cataracts
Prevent signs of aging
Acts as an internal sunscreen
Prevent osteoporosis
Prevent cancer
Improve oral health
Acts as an anti inflammatory
Prevent exercise induced asthma
Not enough evidence to suggest it will help you lose weight

Obviously the best way to get lycopene is through foods however as we know we don't typically eat as well as we think we do. For someone like me, with a chronic disease, it may be beneficial to take a supplement on top of eating the right foods. Recommended dosage is 10mg 2 to 3 times a day taken with food.

I am on a mission to feel better and doing my part to meet this goal. To do this I am adding vitamins/minerals/supplements that have been shown to help my specific health issues as well as eating a healthier diet. This is my way of taking control of my life and if anything it is keeping me positive and proactive instead of sitting back and giving up.

I appreciate this post as I need to become more creative in terms of how I can factor some of those Lycopene loaded foods into my diet. It's very important to consume all of the required nutrients when using a workout program such as the one my clients utilize which is found here http://pfl90.com
