Ground your trendier pieces with classic basics to keep from looking like a fashion victim. You aren't Carrie Bradshaw and this isn't Sex In The City so over the top outfits won't work. Stick with the idea that you don't follow fashion, fashion follows you and only wear one trend at a time.  These pants can be very hard to wear and I've found mixing it with my basic pieces gives me an edgier look. I wear them instead of them wearing me and I fit them into my personal style so I felt comfortable, confident.
